Get inspired for the City Nature Challenge at the Smithsonian! In person on Feb. 9!

We are pleased to announce the next Washington DC Area Citizen Science Regional Meeting, to be held on Friday, Feb. 9th. Consider yourselves invited! The meeting will take place at the Smithsonian’s Natural History Museum, thanks to Robert Costello.

We’ll launch the meeting with a presentation by the ever-inspiring Chris Meyer, Principal Investigator for the Moorea Biocode project (an initiative to identify all land and marine species on and around one island in French Polynesia) and a major driver of the Biocube project (inventory of all life that exists in one cubic foot).

The rest of the meeting will focus on Washington DC and Baltimore metro areas’ participation in the 2018 City Nature Challenge (CNC). Many organizations and individuals have already been making plans via email and phone, but this is an opportunity to connect and collaborate in person. You’ll also have an opportunity to hear about available resources, promotional materials, and trainings currently available (and being developed by CNC’s intrepid volunteer organizing team) to support participation. Please bring your event ideas and questions!
