Myco Blitz Update

Hi everyone,

Just a couple of updates for you as we head into the holiday season.

  1. We completed a first pass at sequencing for all specimens, despite a nearly continuous series of COVID-related lab shutdowns. Sequences have been edited, verified, and posted now for about 75% of specimens. If you don't see your data back, that's because it failed the first pass. We've now managed to amplify about 50% of those that failed the first time (ca. 200 specimens), and have sent those off to sequence. I should be getting those data back to post over the next 2 weeks. The remaining 200 are proving more difficult, but we are continuing to trouble-shoot them.
  2. Workshop: I'll be holding the virtual workshop on sequence editing and blast interpretations tomorrow, Sat. 21, from 2-4 pm EST. If you are interested in joining but haven't signed up yet, please send me an email today (maime@purdue.edu) and I'll get you added.

Happy thanksgiving and happy mushrooming,
Cathie

Looking forward to it! I haven't seen any results for me yet (my week 2 specimens were VERY late though lol).
