Crinoid echinoderms are fantastically beautiful and photogenic, yet their diversity is only beginning to be uncovered. Moreover, we are especially interested in crinoids because they provide habitat to a variety of other animals. These symbionts include myzostome worms, eulimid gastropods, shrimps, squat lobsters, crabs, scaleworms, and clingfish.

Contributing photographs of crinoids and their associates will help scientists better understand:
1) biodiversity
2) species ranges
3) host and symbiont associations
4) host-specificity
