Casual trees.

Although it's possible that a few of the trees in the Dee Atkinson Arboretum at Baltimore Woods were present prior to the development of the arboretum, it's hard to be certain which if any grew where they are by any other than anthropogenic means. So for simplicity and constancy, all trees in the arboretum will be tagged here as "cultivated/captive" to make them "casual" observations.

Most of the trees in the arboretum are native (at least native to New York State), but a few are not. A couple are even considered invasive in New York State by some authorities. Both Crataegus monogyna and Catalpa speciosa are listed as invasive by New York's iMapInvasives program.
