We are so glad you have decided to continue your tidepool exploring along the California Coast.

iNaturalist is a platform for recording your observations of the natural world. By sharing your photos here, you join a community of naturalists and help Academy researchers and our partners understand and protect our local tidepool biodiversity. Don't worry if you don't know what something is...the iNaturalist community will help you with identification.

You can add your observations in two ways:

1. Download the iNaturalist App and upload photos directly from your phone. Make sure to join our project, 'Explore California Tidepools,

2. Take photos with a digital camera and upload them directly to our site.

We are looking for help documenting sea stars, snails, nudibranchs and other invertebrates and seaweeds.
Your observations will help us get a better understanding of the distributions of different species that call our coast home.
