New ferns project
Following the success and popularity of the "Ferns with Te Papa 2015" project we have created an ongoing ferns project to help identify NZ ferns. If you have some skill at identifying ferns and would like to help, please join the project and let me know- I will add you to the curator list (of course anyone can add identifications without being a curator, or even joining the project).

David Hutch has pointed out that there is a bug or two in the "curator id" logic. If an observation was id'd by a curator, before they were promoted to 'curator' the system only half recognises this (ie it doesn't update everything properly). So for instance if you go to the "filter by curator identification" page and open the "search" filter drop down and select "Project Curator identification" = "no", you don't get a proper list. Some of the old observations that have id's from newly appointed curators, show up on the list of 'uncurated' observations. These will disappear once a curator adds a new id ... I will try and clean some of these up.
I have added April's fern observations that are still 'needs id' to the project, but as it is sorted by date, they don't show up on the first project page.
John B pointed out this taxon change, https://inaturalist.nz/taxon_changes/36542, so after consultation with Leon Perrie I have changed the project rule to requiring observations to be in Polypodiopsida, let us know if this causes problems.
