We want to monitor fungi for various reasons.

• Invasive species.
  Many mushrooms live on introduced plants, either as parasites or symbiotically as root-support systems. We would like data on where these fungi occur, and what species they live with.

• Conservation status.
  Just like other plants and animals, some fungi are also threatened by human activities, such as urban growth, cultivation and human use.
