This rare (or perhaps just under-reported) ascomycete has never been found as far North as New York before but we think there's a chance that it's here and we're just not noticing it.
It pretty much looks exactly like its common name: popped popcorn on top of mulberries:

Mulberry trees are just starting to fruit. So next time you pass one, have a quick look at the fruit on the tree and the ground and see if you can see this odd little asco.
