Migratory Bird Day - GBay iNaturalist Challange

May 9th is Migratory Bird Day! While we wish we could bird with you in person, we will look forward to birding with you in the Biosphere digitally!

Participation is easy:
1) Join the Georgian Bay Biosphere's iNaturalist project (You found it!)
2) Submit your bird photos or sound clips all weekend!

Remember:
1) All observations must be within our Biosphere Boundary (map on our project page)
2) You must select our project on each observation.

The person with the highest number of observations by the end of the weekend uploaded to iNaturalist will win a Biosphere prize pack! Biosphere prize pack may include: Biosphere Adult/kids T-shirt, bumper stickers, ID sheets, and $25 gift certificate for our Native Plant Sale.

Aren't sure what bird you see or hear? That's okay!

The iNaturalist community is great at helping ID species. Our bird nerd biologist, Tianna, will be online and helping to ID submitted sightings. You can also post your bird related questions to this event page and we will answer them!

Virtual Bird Hike:

Join us on Saturday morning at 9am on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GBayBiosphere) for a virtual bird hike as Tianna explores her backyard for the sounds of spring and gives you tips on what birds you might hear!

Birds are all around us! Remember to be like the birds and keep an appropriate physical distance at all times.
