NEW NAME, SAME GREAT PROJECT!

Hello iNaturalist friends. Just a quick note to share the exciting news about the expansion of our project boundaries and our new name!

We have discussed expanding the boundaries of our project for some time. After starting the Summit CSI project we have discovered many new opportunities that iNaturalist can provide.

Our new boundaries encompass much of northeastern Ohio, and parts of northwestern Pennsylvania and western New York. This change will allow us to collect data for our ecological region (a geographic area with similar geology, hydrology and biological communities), allowing us to track changes in species composition across the entire region.

Our new name, Lower Lake Erie Region CSI, reflects the boundary expansion.

New name, same great project. Check out the map to familiarize yourself with the new boundaries of our project.

We have now fully morphed into a LEAP project, with expanded boundaries and a cooperative vision to preserve our region's biodiversity. We look forward to additional support of partners, in the form of both conservation organizations and project members like you.

While we wait for the 2013 season to kick into full gear, why not consider bolstering your personal lifelists by adding photographic records of species from previous years? iNaturalist is a great way to catalogue personal lifelists in any species group.

I look forward to a great 2013 season and hope to see lots of interesting records from all of you. We appreciate all of your support and happy "hunting"!
