The iNaturalist folks have recently added the ability for anyone to publish field guides for any species anywhere! See the "Guides" link at the top of the page. Both great automation and enormous flexibility have been provided for making the guides. We have experimented with a few Summit County, Ohio guides:

More dynamic versions of each can also be found on the iNaturalist App. By tagging each species with attributes, such as habitat, abundance, status, etc., users are able to easily narrow down the possibilities, find more detailed information or add a record. Please try them out and provide feedback.
