Macnamara Trail Extension Project

This project will record observations in the location of a trail extension project. The Macnamara Field Naturalists' Club is adding an extension to its 4.5km Macnamara Nature Trail in Arnprior. Named after historical, local naturalist Charles Macnamara, the Macnamara Nature Trail is located on 280 acres owned by Nylene Canada in the Nopiming Game Sanctuary by the Ottawa River. The 1.5 km extension will connect to the main trail and provide access to the central part of the Goodwin Marsh wetland and to several different wetland border and upland habitats on the north side of the property. An observation tower will offer a mid-wetland vantage point for the study of resident and migratory wildfowl and other animal life adjacent to the Ottawa River.
