Habitat

This species is found in lowland rainforest. Members of New Guinea's Carlia radiation are associated with open habitats, and often thrive in areas of disturbance and regrowth, and this species likewise is presumably associated with forest clearings.

Threats

It is unlikely that any major threats are impacting this species. This species may be locally threatened as a result of deforestation, however this is an area with limited human presence and somewhat restricted access (A. Allison pers. comm. 2014), and so any threats will be limited.

    Red List Rationale

This species has been assessed as Least Concern. Although it has an extent of occurrence estimated to be 13,261 km2 and is known exclusively from forest, it is likely that it can tolerate some degree of forest disturbance and deforestation within its range is presently thought to be limited.
