Be part of a new, citizen science movement & Identify area species to contribute to the region’s species inventory. Whether there is a need for baseline data to support a conservation program or just out of curiosity, we often wonder about the various lifeforms around us . There are numerous surveys done throughout the area, but sometimes the resulting data is not accessible or does not translate for the general public. The Eco-Blitz Series serves to establish continuous species ID events, bringing partners together from all over to make this data transparent and accessible to all. This is done by displaying the real-time data on this website. This effort aims to:
• Raise awareness of biodiversity
• Generate appreciation of natural resources
• Establish a shared effort among science professionals, educators, and the general public
This is a collaborative effort among the following organizations with ongoing events: Cascade Education Corps, City of Portland, City of Vancouver, Clark County, Clean Water Services, Get To Know, iNaturalist, Jackson Bottom Wetlands, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership, Oregon Metro, Oregon SOLVE, The Intertwine, The National Park Service, The Wetlands Conservancy, Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District, YMCA
