Welcome to any new members, and to folks who have been helping with this project for quite some time!
Did you know there is a tool to find your observations that match the Rare Species of Oregon species list and batch-add them to the project? It only takes a few clicks and is a great, fast way to share your rare species observations with a wider audience.
Here are the steps to take:
From the Rare Species of Oregon project page, click "Add from your observations." (if you're not already a member of the project, click "Join Project" at the top of the page first)
If you have matching observations, click the "Batch Edit" button near the top of the page.
Click "Select All".
Click "Add to Project" and then Add Rare Species of Oregon.
Done! Repeat periodically to tag new observations or to match newly-tracked species.
We at the Oregon Biodiversity Information Center use your observations to help assess species statuses, distributions, habitat use, and trends. Precise locations for rare species are protected and only shared via data use sharing agreements. Our data is used by many agencies, consultants, and researchers throughout Oregon. In addition, our data is shared with NatureServe which pools data from all 50 states and several Canadian provinces and Latin American countries to allow for regional analyses.

I have an observation that was identified as a Black Merlin. It is not on the list so I am unable to add this observation.
Thanks @insectology, I have added Falco columbarius ssp. suckleyi to the project list. We track this species at the full species level, and iNaturalist doesn't auto-allow infraspecies for projects, so I have to add those as they come up. Appreciated! -Lindsey

Why should these observations be added manually?
I've created 2 projects (for my own coninience) from ORBIC Vertebrate and Invertebrate lists from 2019 and now these are just zero effort automatically updated lists.
Is there some point in manuall observations management? Is it for usage rights tracking?
@iburyl this project was created before Collector Projects were an option, what is now called “traditional projects” was the only option at the time and they work differently.
