Rivercane Mapping in the Southeast

The purpose of this pilot project is to identify locations where rivercane (Arundinaria gigantea) is currently growing.

We are aiming to get baseline data about where rivercane currently exists in the Southeast, which can help identify suitable areas for restoration and reintroduction in the future.

This project is a partnership between the US Forest Service, Southern Research Station and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma. less ↑
