Run by Wildlife Preservation Society of Qld, Scenic Rim Branch.
This is a Citizen Science event open to individuals, families, schools, nature photographers and whoever else would like to be involved. Over a 48 hour period (day and night), we will seek and identify as many animals, plants and fungi as possible on private and Council land, taking care to cause minimal disturbance. Join in for an hour or two, or for a couple of days. Experts will be on hand to guide small groups into the more sensitive areas and to identify species, and there will be demonstrations through the day. Let us know if you'd like your email to be included on our list for updates.
There will also be an opportunity to send in photos and descriptions of species you find on your own land (or elsewhere in the Scenic Rim) during the remainder of the week.
Results will be presented on our website (not giving exact locations of threatened species) and sent to WPSQ Central, Atlas of Living Australia, Scenic Rim Regional Council and participating land-owners.
The event is free of charge, except there will be a (discounted) entry fee into Skywalk.
