Similar species in the same photo (syntopy)

You have one photo containing multiple related species or look-alikes? Then this project might be for you.
Please take notice that the inclusion criteria for observations to this project are kind of blurry, so here's what I would consider NOT suitable to add:

• non-wild observations
• taxa more distant than genus level (exception: similar appearances)
• very common encounters: e.g. several Trifolium species in a meadow, multiple species of gulls, waders or ducks, finches or tits together at a feeder...

However, these rules are by no means set in stone, and if it was a special encounter for you, it might be worth to show it here. For example, numbers matter - as soon as the number of species becomes somehow not easy to reach (triplet, quadruple, quintuple,...), or, it has some educational value, you might add it. Some cases that come to my mind:

• say, 5 or so gull species in the same frame (all recognizable)
• or even fewer species, when they are good for comparison (tricky ID, similar posture) and the picture has a good quality
• several galls (not gulls) on the same leaf, even if these belong to different phyla
• more than one rarity in the same shot (should be in the same family at least)
• interesting inter-species behaviour among related taxa
• two woodpecker species on the same trunk
• ...

I hope you get the point. I would set the focus, however, on finding plants from the same genus in the same spot. And yes, it has some kind of challenge in it ... :-) less ↑
