As in previous years, we'll have a Big Fall Planting Day and celebration at the Spruill Farm Conservation Project. This year's date is Saturday, September 10, the weekend AFTER Labor Day weekend.

We'll have about an acre of land prepared for our Fall 2016 community garden, which we'll sow and transplant as we gather at the farm Saturday morning. Afterwards we'll enjoy a picnic lunch by the Albemarle Sound at Spruill Farm Landing and spend the rest of the afternoon swimming, paddling, fishing, or exploring the farm. There will be opportunities to make iNaturalist observations, and we hope to get some interesting ones. It may be the last chance of the season to record some of our pollinating insects and migratory birds.
