Bioblitz at Stewart Creek Wetlands Sunday, April 28, 1-3 p.m.

Join Master Naturalists and other iNaturalist users for a two-hour bioblitz to support the City Nature Challenge in Frisco. Meet at the foot of Teel Parkway just south of Lebanon Road at 1 p.m., April 28, for a short presentation and then off add observations to the project. As I write this Thursday, we are at 292 species so far.

Also, the City of Frisco is offering its own bioblitz Monday, April 29, also in support of the City Nature Challenge. A one-hour tour will begin at 8:15 a.m. at Frisco Commons Park, 8000 Mckinney Road.

The project will encourage Frisco neighbors to track growing diversity of flora and fauna drawn to four new wetlands built in partnership between the City of Frisco and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In 2016 the Corps team from the Lewisville Aquatic Ecosystem Research Facility began populating this riparian and aquatic environment with native Texas plants.
