Texas Eagle Nests

The goal of this project is to collect information on the location and status of Bald Eagle and Golden Eagle nesting across the state of Texas. As eagle populations recover, we are interested in learning more about where they are nesting and, ideally, how successful they are in fledging young. If you are able to track a nest through the breeding season, with weekly visits, this information can provide us with valuable data on nest status. Although they are not eagles, this project will also accept observations for Osprey nests.

Please respect nests by making observations from a safe distance and do not trespass on private property.

We request that you share your observation coordinates with the project administrators and curators. Observations of nesting Bald Eagles will be added to the Texas Natural Diversity Database (TXNDD), which is maintained by Texas Parks & Wildlife and used to assist environmental review and conservation planning efforts.
