The Roman Urbarium

This project is dedicated to understanding the contemporary street vegetation of Rome. It is intended as a public, open source project that draws on the collective observations and knowledge of locals and visitors alike. As you traverse the timeless city, pay attention to all the plant life you encounter, from the iconic ornamental tree, to the lowliest of street weeds. There's a lot to see, and a lot we can learn from what we see.

This project is being organized by Daniel Phillips and Kim Karlsrud, a collaborative team from Los Angeles (see our website at (www.thecommonstudio.com). The project is a central component of a one year fellowship in Rome with the American Academy (aarome.org). The project will begin in September of 2014 and end in September of 2015.

Questo progetto è dedicato alla comprensione della vegetazione strada contemporanea di Roma . Esso è inteso come un progetto di fonte pubblica , aperta che attinge le osservazioni collettive e le conoscenze di abitanti e visitatori .
