Meet at Bladensburg Waterfront Park at 9:30a to pick up kayaks and paddle down to the National Arboretum (part of the USDA's park and research gardens). If you are game, we'll take trash bags with us to collect any floating debris. Enjoy conversation and company as we hike the Asian plant collection. Learn about The Peace Tree (from 1625) which survived 1945 Hiroshima, Japan. Hike as much or as little of the Arboretum as you have time while we are on shore (an Arboretum guide may join us). Rather than hike, if you prefer, bring a book and relax on the shore's edge. 1.5 - 2 hours of time in the kayaks. Total experience is 4 hours. Kayak rental and gear is $21-26 based on residency. Pack a lunch or bring something to share. @treegrow @carrieseltzer @serenella @genevievedem @jmgconsult @jwidness @mmn_noriko
