      Red List Rationale

      [[DEM MPSG: Pongamiopsis pervilleana is a shrub or small tree, growing in xerophytic scrubland or  deciduous woodland. It is a very widespread species, known from around Toliara, but also recorded along the west around Morondava, Soalala, the Boina and Ankarana Massif. With an EOO of 504615.67171sq km, more subpopulations occur within protected area, it is assessed as LC. It is currently known from Ankarana, Ankarafantsika, Andohahela, Beza Mahafaly protected areas. The last recent collection on the species was made in 2004 from Andohasatra (Toliara province). Local uses: wood used in house construction and for planks, also used as a fish poison, especially the roots.
