Quercus agrifolia, the California live oak, or coast live oak, is a highly variable and often shrubby evergreen oak native to the California Floristic Province. It grows west of the Sierra Nevada from Mendocino County, California, south to northern Baja California in Mexico. It is classified in the red oak section (Quercus sect. Lobatae).

Many Q. agrifolia have been declining since 2010 or so, and the Presidio Trust IPM team would like to try to figure out why. So this is a survey of Q. agrifolia in the Presidio of SF to document decline signs and symptoms.
