ylist.info(Japan) also says these two plants are a synonym. The accepted name in ylist.info is L. lobata but I agree with this taxon swap because it's bad many records are separated in synonyms. :-(

@loarie - can we please have an American taxonomist to commit this (or not) ...

I would like to commit this...any objections?

@utchee , @genjitsu , @keitawatanabe , any objections?

Posted by harumkoh about 4 years ago

No objections, but only as it is not in our area ...

Posted by tonyrebelo about 4 years ago

When I try to commit it, I get the error message "Output taxon rank level not coarser than rank level of active children of input taxon Pueraria lobata"

How do we remedy this?

There is a children: Pueraria lobata ssp. thomsonii - this will need to be separately swapped to whatever taxon it needs to be swapped to, before this swap can be effected. .

http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:20008484-1 = there is a Pueraria montana var. thomsonii (Benth.) M.R.Almeida

But I know nothing about this ...

I suggest thought that this var needs to be moved to there, before effecting the species swap ...

But someone needs to check for potential complications - perhaps Pu lophantha is not all Pu. montana lophantha but also Pu montana sensum latum??

It is done. This will clear up a lot of confusion in eastern North America.

@harumkoh sorry, I found this page just now...

I also agree with this swapping.
Although YList not supports the synonymous relationships, I suggest it according to POWO and usefulness for global users.
