Audubon Louisiana Nature Center is an oasis of natural wonder only 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans. This 86 acre facility boasts an interpretive center, expansive nature trails and boardwalks, a planetarium, and a wide array of educational programming and volunteer opportunities.

This facility was destroyed in 2005 in the flooding and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It has taken many years, but Audubon rebuilt the facility to offer engaging and exciting new opportunities for the community to get into Louisiana nature.

One program we are particularly excited about is Citizen Science. With the help of individual community members, we hope to gather vital information about the native and non-native flora and fauna found on site. This will help us deliver meaningful and accurate educational content as well as develop appropriate plans to manage the forest and habitat.
