Paula Lane Action Network is a conservation nonprofit, advocating open space and habitat protection, focusing on American Badger (Taxidea Taxus). Based in Sonoma County, California (www.paulalaneactionnetwork.org).

Expertise in American Badger habitat and species. BadgerMap was originally created as an iNaturalist project, to document species sightings and habitat signs/activity (burrowing/foraging). At this time, in 2015, we have decided to transition this project to a private project, primarly due to a heightened interest in many to try and "find" or "see" a badger, which could be detrimental to the species and its natural life patterns. We welcome observations and sightings - please email info@paulalaneactionnetwork.org. We have recently deleted some entries from BadgerMap because of sensitivity in certain areas related to American Badger issues. We appreciate your understanding, as we believe a higher priority has now emerged to protect identified American Badger habitat and species locations, rather than share globally information about the same. We've noticed an increase in an almost sensational approach to badger sightings with accompanying inaccurate information regarding the species and its behavior patterns, which we've observed for over 15 years, and also believe there is an importance in providing accurate information about American Badger, a solitary mammal seen less frequently than some other wildlife species.
