My love of the outdoors was instilled in me at an early age by my father who would take us to Plumas Eureka (Sierras) every summer for several weeks at a time. We would hike and fish the streams, swim the glacial lakes, marvel at the beaver ponds, and thoroughly explore the back-country with unbridled excitement. Everyday was an adventure to be relished. This naturally led me to a career in natural resource management where I have worked for the National Park Service, International Institute of Tropical Forestry, Wolong Giant Panda Reserve, Land Trusts and environmental consulting firms mostly specializing in plant ecology, restoration ecology, historical ecology, preserve management, and the use of GIS for all of the above. Since 2009 I have had the privilege of managing the Jenner Headlands Preserve, an area that continues to amaze me with its natural beauty and sweeping vistas of the Sonoma Coast.
