Comments and identifications:

macropneuma suggested an ID – April 26th
Ptisana oreades – a member of Family Marattiaceae Potato Fern Family

@andymurdock would you check this ID please, when time permits! – April 27th .

@macropneuma It appears to a P. oreades that's had a bit of a rough life. It's small, pinnules are somewhat misshapen, but it still has the general look and leathery pinnules of P. oreades and there's no other good option for the region. – April 29th .

Thank you Andy Murdock, much appreciated.

This beaut' small plant grows up the lower slopes of a steep hill,
under the dense canopy shaded south aspect here,
in unusually fertile soil for this region
and 10+ m above a steep creek.
So probably much drier and a bit rougher life for it than usual growing on the bank of the creek with roots accessing water.

I have to read the global taxonomy articles of Ptisana more, sometime.

Best,
Jason.
