Percentage of Shell Species

Asian Clams (Corbicula fluminea) are an invasive species and it appears to be the main species of this pond. I have spotted at least thousands here. I have found two other species, Pyganodon grandis and Utterbackia imbecillis. Each of which I've only found one. Current stats for the pond (not only from the observations, and a very rough estimate):

‎‎‎>99% | Corbicula fluminea sensu lato
<1% | Pyganodon grandis
<1% | Utterbackia imbecillis

I will update this in the future.

About

Tracking the species of mollusks in the pond to gain a better understanding of the impacts of invasive Corbicula on native mussels and snails.

This stormwater retention pond doesn’t have an official name so a few friends and I decided to give it the nickname “Lamera Pond.”
