Amateur macro-photographer and Christian homeschooler with a keen interest in the diverse order Araneae (spiders). I love anything and everything about these fascinating macro-predators, but my primary focus lies in understanding their intricate and intriguing spinneret and spigot morphology, topography, and diversity, as well as taxonomy of Araneae and reclassifying spider families. I am also working on a comprehensive field guide with straightforward identification for all 138 spider families around the globe.

I mostly monitor observations of Ohio spiders and some less-appreciated spider families, so don't be surprised if I'm identifying a lot of those. But I can and will identify all spiders, usually to family or below, so don't hesitate to "@" me if you are in need of assistance. If you already have and I haven't responded and it's been at least 24 hours, please tag me again or message me. I visit this website every day, so I'll usually be able to respond to notifications relatively quickly.

My photographs are captured using the Canon EOS Rebel T7 with the kit lens and a 14-130mm macro extension tube(s), without a flash and diffuser, which means I rely on natural lighting for my photographs. I previously used the 7-49mm macro extension tube, and earlier the iPod 7th generation paired with a clip-on macro lens. I also sometimes use an umbrella to block out the sun. Feel free to use my photographs as long as you credit me. For this reason, I try to include useful photographs of many different positions and features of organisms. I do others sometimes for the fun, though! If you use any of my photos for any reason, it would be greatly appreciated if you could inform me!
