Oʻahu CNC participants,

We are pleased to announce this year’s Oʻahu CNC. The observation period will run April 26-29 and the identification period is from April 30 to May 5.

Every year we hold the CNC, we strive to connect our community in an effort to celebrate and protect our island’s incredible biodiversity. This could not happen without your participation, so a big mahalo to everyone who contributed observations, added identifications, or helped support previous CNC events in other ways.

We are so excited that the number of participants, observations, and species has increased every single year since we began in 2020. Last year we ended up with a total of 1,569 observations of 582 species made by 145 observers! We also had 254 identifiers participate! This year, we hope to once again beat our previous year’s numbers!

If you are thinking about participating this year, help us spread the word about the challenge. This year on the evening of May 2 (Thursday), we will also be hosting a social at the Bishop Museum for CNC participants. Details will be shared at a later date.
