Texas mouse

Peromyscus attwateri

Summary 1

The Texas Mouse (Peromyscus attwateri) is a species of rodent in the family Cricetidae. It is found in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas in the United States.

Description 2

Texas Mice need rocky environments. Where these occur, they are found in cedar glade, juniper-grass, and oak-juniper forests. They eat seeds, berries, green plants, and insects. They are medium-sized for the genus, with large hind feet. They have brownish backs, white bellies, and like all Peromyscus mice, have long tails. Large eyes and ears help them pursue their nocturnal lifestyle.
