Description: Trumpeter Swans have a midnight black beak with a little orange slit on the bottom. They have a yellow head and neck that fades into snow white half way down their neck. Juveniles have the same shape, but are brown and gray.

Habitat: Marshes, lakes and ponds. Winter in the San Juan Islands.

Fun Facts: Trumpeter Swans were hunted nearly to extinction, but have made an amazing recover.
