Identification:
The beaver has a flat tail, is pretty large, and has webbed hind feet. You can tell if they are around by sign as well. For example, it drags its tail and covers the paw marks. Its scat’s large like a marshmallow and consists of woodchips. Scat is deposited in water.

Energy Role:
The beaver is a consumer. It eats trees. It prefers maple and cherry trees.
