The Malaysian hawk-cuckoo (Hierococcyx fugax) is a bird in the family Cuculidae formerly considered conspecific with Hodgson's hawk-cuckoo and the rufous hawk-cuckoo. All three species were previously assigned as Cuculus fugax.
This is a rare migrant to Singapore.
It can easily be confused with immature Hodgson's Hawk-Cuckoo, but it lacks a thin penultimate tail band, the underparts are more spotty than streaky, with less rufous, and the amount of white on the nape is typically more.
