The Buff-rumped Woodpecker (Meiglyptes tristis) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

Previously extirpated from Singapore, it is now a rare vagrant.

It is barred buff and black. The male has red moustaches, while the female lacks them.
