Range description 7

This species has a sub-cosmopolitan distribution, occurring throughout central, southern and eastern Africa, east through Afghanistan and the Indian sub-continent and Indian Ocean island groups to east and south-east Asia, south to Australia and New Zealand, as well as from the south-eastern United States south through Mexico to Central and South America. It has been introduced to mainland Portugal and Spain, as well as the Azores, Madeira, some Pacific island groups and California (The Board of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew 2012).
