Plant descriptions 1

Tree c.10 - 25 m; wood white. Leaves with (5-) 7 - 9 alternate leaflets; petiole 12 - 30 mm long, glabrous; rachis slightly zigzag, 45 - 100 mm long; petiolules 3 - 4 mm long, glabrous; leaflets elliptic or ovate to oblong. Actinomorphic flowers, c. 2 cm long, the sepals, petals, stamen filaments and style all bright carmine pink, the anthers cream to pale grey-brouwn, the disk ovary yellow-green, not scented. Fruit subtended by the persistent sepals at the base, with a stalk c.5 - 8 mm long, samaroid, 70 - 80 mm long excluding a slender stipe 6 - 10 mm long, pale straw brown, glabrous, with a single apical seed and a broad basal wing c. 20 - 25 mm broad, one side of the wing almost straight to concave, the other rounded-convex. Seed oblong-ovate, flat, c. 17 - 20 x 9 - 11 mm.
