Pelagodes antiquadraria (Inoue, 1976)

Key Identification points . . . 3

  • Forewing with discrete, straight or slightly concave medial fascia;
  • Forewing costa (leading edge) pale orange-brown when freshly emerged;
  • No black dots on the wing margins;
  • Wings covered with fine white striae (fleck marks) aligned from costa to dorsum (front edge to trailing edge of the wings);
  • When freshly emerged, the ground colour is a rather dark jade green.
  • Phenology 3

    Adults recorded throughout the year, with peaks in April and September-October (as per figure 2, above).

    Ecology 3

  • Found from sea level to 750m elevation in non urban habitats;
  • Larval hosts for the genus are listed by Holloway (Moths of Borneo).
  • Distribution in Hong Kong 3

    Widespread: recorded throughout the New Territories and on the larger islands.
