Athetis tarda, the Slowpoke Moth, is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from New Hampshire to Florida and from Missouri to Texas. The habitat consists of oak woodlands.

Comments: Athetis tarda, comb. n. is a typical member of the genus Athetis and is the only North American species in this very large Old World genus (Lafontaine and Schmidt 2010).
