Distinguishing Characteristics
An endemic limpet of New Zealand, it is easily recognisable by its brown rings.

Size and distribution
up to 16mm in size, it is found throughout New Zealand under rocks, usually around the low tide mark.

Atalacmea fragilis is a species of sea snail or true limpet, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Lottiidae, one of the families of true limpets.
