Summary ²

The Belted Kingfisher (Ceryle alcyon) is a fish-eating bird of the family Alcedinidae. It often hovers or perches over streams in order to obsreve and catch fish. Female has red on breast and belly, male has none. Both have a shaggy crest and a white collar.
