Cope's gray tree frog (Hyla chrysoscelis) is a species of tree frog found in the United States. It is almost indistinguishable from the gray tree frog, Hyla versicolor, and shares much of its geographic range. Both species are variable in color, mottled gray to gray-green, resembling the bark of trees. Global Range: Range is not precisely known but includes most of the south-central and southeastern United States and areas west of the Great Lakes, from Manitoba, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, southern Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland south to eastern Texas, the Gulf Coast, and northern Florida (Preston 1982, Holloway et al. 2006).
