Range description ¹

This species occurs on Fogo and Santiago Islands, and the islet Ilhu de Cima (one of the Rombos Islets), in the Cape Verde Islands (Miralles et al. 2010). Within these islands the species has an estimated extent of occurrence of 445 km² (Vasconcelos et al. 2013). Subfossil evidence suggests its historical occurrence on Maio and Boavista (Carranza et al. 2001), but the species is now absent from these islands. Its area of occupancy may be as low as 20 km² (Vasconcelos et al. 2013).
