Global Range: (200,000-2,500,000 square km (about 80,000-1,000,000 square miles)) Found in southern Indiana and Ohio, and northern Kentucky (Hobbs, 1989) in the middle and lower Ohio River drainages (Thoma and Jezerinac, 2000).

Habitat and Ecology

This species is a primary burrowing crayfish that burrows in springs and rarely ventures into larger water bodies (Thoma and Jezerinac 2000). This species has also been found in ditches, roadside ditches, temporary pools and small streams (Norrocky 1989).
