Distribution 2

Global Range: (200,000-2,500,000 square km (about 80,000-1,000,000 square miles)) It occurs in most of Ohio, western West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, southwestern Pennsylvania and northwestern Tennessee, wherever suitable habitat occurs. (Jezerinac 1993).

Habitat 3

Justification
Cambarus thomai has been given a status of Least Concern (LC).This species is widespread and found in a large number of localities within its range, equating to an EOO in excess of 172,000 km2. There are no apparent serious threats to this widely distributed population and species of similar habits seem very tolerant of humans.

Nature serve conservation status 6

Rounded Global Status Rank: G5 - Secure

Reasons: This species is widespread and found in a large number of localities within its range (extent 200000-2500000 sq. km). There are no apparent serious threats to a widely distributed population; and species of similar habits seem very tolerant of humans. It occurs in most of Ohio, western West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, southwestern Pennsylvania and northwestern Tennessee, wherever suitable habitat occurs.

Intrinsic Vulnerability: Not intrinsically vulnerable

Environmental Specificity: Broad. Generalist or community with all key requirements common.
