Habitat and Range 4

Commonly found on rocks burred in sand intertidally and subtidally (to 40 m), ranging from southern British Columbia to the Revillagigedo Islands, Mexico.

Morphology and Identification 4

Thallus grows 4 - 25 cm tall, color varies from pink to red. Flattened axes with large branches distichous, small branches pectinate and curved outward.

Previously Plocamium cartilagineum.
