Habitat and range ³

Inhabits the mid and low intertidal zones, often among the red turfs from San Pedro, CA to La Paz, Baja California (MAC).

Morphology and identification ³

Globular thalli (~ 4 to 8 cm), brown to greenish in color, with wart-like protrusions. Easily distinguished from the other species of Colpomenia by the tubercles (warts).
